Caroline Gray, Eclipse (aka ‘Scooty’) owner, Bromley, Kent
“Scooty, Oliver my ‘Spy Bear’ and I go adventuring everywhere together. Scooty has made such a difference to my life. Before buying my Eclipse I had tried other mobility scooters but they scared me and were jerky. My Eclipse is smooth and easy to drive; I really liked all the different colours it was available in and had to go for one which matched as far as possible my orange Motability car.
I have been tweeting using a ‘spy’ bear character for some time, but when I bought Scooty I put my orange Spybear in the basket and took photos wherever we went on ‘missions’. You can find our stories on Twitter by typing in: #olivers&scootysadventures. I really want to encourage young people to see that scooters are not scary and not just for older people.
I am a member of Trade Winds, a female acapella singing group based in South London. Having Scooty this year has enabled me to access and perform in venues that would have been impossible without him.”
Eclipse - Puts the competition in the shade
Promising maximum mobility wherever life takes you, great performance with superb levels of stability, manoeuvrability and class-leading ground clearance.
Built on a strong frame with a highly stable four-wheel design, the Eclipse is quite simply a dream to drive. A comfortable and supportive swivel seat with adjustable armrests, adjustable tiller with delta handlebars and controls that can be used with thumbs or fingertips.
To top it all, the Eclipse is designed to be taken apart and broken down into four easy to handle main components, the seat, the battery pack, the rear wheels and the floorpan together with the front wheels. It’s so easy it can be done with one hand and it fits together again with ease too.
The Eclipse is compact but bursting with features not normally found on a scooter of this size. A front basket complete with removable draw-string lining to keep your valuables safe, dry and close at hand is supplied as standard, as is the neat rear bag for yet more safe storage.
Front LED light, high level charge socket on the tiller so you don’t have to bend to charge and a second charge socket on the battery pack to allow you to leave the Eclipse packed in the boot of the car and just take the battery pack indoors to charge.
The feature packed Eclipse casts a shadow over less well equipped models. The only choices to be made are standard or heavy duty battery pack to increase range to 18 miles and which of the six stylish colours you prefer.
If you refuse to let mobility issues impact on your lifestyle, choose the comfortable, stylish and versatile Eclipse.
