TGA, the UK’s leading mobility scooter specialist, will be supporting the QEF charity’s Tryb4uFly service for airline passengers with disabilities at the 2017 Mobility Roadshow (Stand C21 and B6. 1-3 June, NAEC, Stoneleigh, Warwickshire).
Tryb4uFly is debuting at the event this year and provides an advice service for disabled air travellers. This service is managed by the charity Queen Elizabeth’s Foundation for Disabled People (QEF), and expert representatives will be on hand to provide information about air travel for people with disabilities and their families, and offer practical advice and demonstrations. The event will also provide more information about the cabin assessments that are available at three locations around the UK - QEF Mobility Services based in Carshalton, the Regional Driving Assessment Centre in Birmingham and the William Merritt Disabled Living Centre and Mobility Service, Leeds. Each centre has access to a replica section of aircraft fuselage so travellers can trial and compare accessibility and assistive solutions in a realistic environment.
In conjunction with this, TGA will be showcasing their award-winning range of mobility scooters, wheelchair and powerpacks, which continue to provide assured independence for people across the UK living with restricted mobility. The folding range of TGA Minimo scooters provide maximum transportability as they are compact, lightweight and easy to store. They can be folded single-handedly in seconds and do not require any parts to be dismantled for storage – hence providing hassle-free independence when travelling by car, bus, train or plane. On arrival owners can benefit from use of their own familiar scooter without any compromise to independence. This is why the Minimo, Minimo Plus and new Minimo Plus 4 continue to grow in popularity and are ideal for air travel – as will be demonstrated by Tryb4uFly at The Mobility Roadshow.
During the practical demonstrations on stand C21, occupational therapists will guide service users through boarding an aircraft, mobility scooter and wheelchair transfer options and support systems available on airplanes. A TGA Minimo Plus 4 will be available on the stand along with product information so visitors can discover why this travel-friendly mobility scooter is ideal for tackling large airports, stowing on aircraft and enjoying onward journeys.
Daniel Stone, TGA Managing Director comments: “We are supporting Tryb4uFly at the Mobility Roadshow as we believe this service provided by the QEF charity is invaluable. We have many Minimo customers who have successfully flown with their scooters and experienced smooth transfers through airports and beyond. They have been able to enjoy holidays and business trips abroad without the hassle of hiring scooters on arrival. As our products are so reliable and trustworthy we always encourage our customers to broaden their horizons as they can travel with confidence. This is enhanced by the knowledge they gain from using the Tryb4uFly service.”
These informative sessions assist with planning, reducing pre-flight anxieties and increasing confidence – available on Friday 2 June and Saturday 3 June at The Mobility Roadshow – stand C21.
