The new Minimo Autofold appeals

The newest member of the popular Minimo range, the Minimo Autofold, claimed centre stage on the TGA stand and gained plenty of interest.

Why? Its automated folding is ideal for those with reduced dexterity, limited strength and for those requiring extra convenience from their scooter. To lift into the car boot, like the other models in the Minimo family, the Autofold can lean up against the back bumper of the car to take the weight and be lifted the other end using the lifting handle.

“Through the combination of lightweight design and automated folding, more owners with restricted mobility can choose to travel alone or benefit from easier storage and deployment,” Daniel Stone, TGA Managing Director said.

“Freedom is all about maximum convenience – this is what the Minimo Autofold delivers in abundance."

Alongside the Minimo Autofold launch, visitors were able to see and experience the complete award-winning TGA range of scooters, wheelchairs, powerpacks and powerchairs.

Driving skills were put to the test on the TGA test track

Adjacent to the stand, the TGA mobility test track created quite the buzz. Providing a unique opportunity to test drive around an engaging and fun course, obstacles simulated everyday situations a mobility scooter user or wheelchair user may face including road crossings, slopes and reversing scenarios.

Experienced TGA advisors helped guide drivers around the course to promote safe driving while visitors identified the right scooter for their lifestyle. Test drives of the pioneering WHILL Model C powerchair proved the most popular over the two days – with the sleek design, omni wheels and remote-control iPhone app impressing.

"There was a significant buzz in and around our Naidex test track this year as we welcomed individuals with many varying abilities and lifestyles to trial our products,” Stone added. “Only by completing a test drive can you truly understand whether a scooter or powerchair is right for your needs.

“Our track was busy throughout the event with visitors test driving TGA products of all sizes, from our stylish WHILL Model C powerchair to the new-look 8mph Breeze S4 with off-road capabilities."

TGA also showcased the sleek Scoozy, a cross between a scooter and powerchair. It turned out to be a crowd-pleaser, with comments such as 'fabulous' and 'it's a head-turner!' received.
