To reassure all local mobility scooter owners about product safety and to teach valuable driving techniques, the UK's leading specialist from Sudbury, TGA Mobility, will be holding a free event this Thursday 11th August 11am-3pm at the headquarters of the Papworth Trust in Bury St. Edmunds.
In association with the Papworth Trust, Suffolk Police, Age UK, Optua, Dial, Gateopener and The Stroke Association, this free event is available to everyone who already owns a mobility scooter or is considering purchasing one. It will provide the opportunity for attendees to receive a free visual safety check on their own scooter whether supplied from TGA or not, and to drive around a specially designed test track so they can learn valuable driving skills. The importance of users both truly understanding their personal capabilities and owning exactly the right type of mobility scooter is absolutely paramount in remaining safe whether travelling on the road or pavement. The need for safe driving continues to be topical within the press and has been further highlighted by the recent Government review into the possible need for compulsory driving tests along with Norfolk Police's 'Scoot safe' initiative. In addition, the importance of purchasing safe, reliable mobility products from specialists such as TGA was also national headline news last week following a competitor's scooter exploding into a 'fire-ball' in Melton Mowbray.
TGA's enhanced assessment and safe driving programme ensures mobility scooter users are fully trained at the point of sale. Daniel Stone, TGA Managing Director explains: "TGA continues to be a caring, ethical business who leads in the provision of quality scooters that are personally specified to meet individual needs which has led to the launch of our new assessment programme. This structured process carried out by qualified TGA Mobility representatives at our showrooms, ensures that before any scooter is purchased, a full understanding of individuals' needs is achieved so that independence and safety are maximised. Not only is awareness of the correct driving techniques essential for new and existing users, but also the peace of mind that the mobility scooter being purchased is safe and reliable. Following that terrible story in the national press last week regarding a competitor's mobility scooter catching fire, I can reassure TGA customers that our products are extensively tested, have a comprehensive pre-delivery inspection before dispatch and have been providing safe, enjoyable freedom for over 25 years. I look forward to welcoming end users from all over the region to this special safety event and I thank the Papworth Trust for their support."
Attendees to this safe driving event will also be able to discuss all their mobility issues with leading experts from TGA and test drive several of the latest products from the Sudbury specialists including the recently launched new TGA Breeze 3S & 4S. Members of the general public can attend with their own mobility scooter or if preferred, they can enjoy one of the latest TGA models around the fun, yet informative test track. Complimentary refreshments will be available.
