TGA, the UK's leading specialist in mobility scooters, has experienced a busy Naidex whilst successfully launching two new products on stand D9 (Halls 6 and 7, 26-28th May, NEC).
Alongside its complete award-winning range and new test-track facility, TGA unveiled its Swiss-designed StrongBack wheelchair and folding Maximo mobility scooter to higher visitor numbers. Daniel Stone, TGA Managing Director, commented: "Naidex has proven to more successful this year than we anticipated. We received healthy orders for our new StrongBack wheelchair and Maximo scooter on the opening day and we were delighted to welcome Lord Rennard MBE and BHTA Director of Communications onto the stand during day two. I believe our test-track was also a positive addition to the Naidex show floor and we intend to enhance this feature at the 2017 event. When you combine the high number of enquiries we accumulated with the invaluable opportunity to discuss individual needs face-to-face with end users, Naidex provided a strong platform from which we can now leverage further product success."
The inventor of the StrongBack Dr. Christian Grothe and TGA's Wheelchair Powerpack specialist, Eric Cooper, were busy all three days demonstrating the multiple benefits of the new lightweight and ergonomic StrongBack wheelchair from TGA. This pioneering design suits the majority of users looking for an attendant-controlled wheelchair with advanced lumbar support. The new StrongBack incorporates an award-winning seating concept that promotes better posture through a curved backrest. This helps to vastly improve comfort for the occupant through extra support and the reduced potential to slouch and slide forward. It can be folded into a compact shape quickly and only weighs a mere 11.3kg so lifting is strain free.
Dr. Christian Grothe said: "Traditional wheelchairs can be uncomfortable to sit in, even for short periods of time. This discomfort can be caused by several problems resulting from poor posture. With a lack of appropriate lumbar support, poorly designed wheelchairs can cause chronic pain or long-term health problems such as Kyphosis. The StrongBack's ergonomic curved backrest supports the natural lumbar curve of the spine for comfortable, upright and healthy sitting. The StrongBack also provides an improved seat angle that aligns the pelvis for proper ergonomic posture. The seating surface moulds around the occupant so that circulation is improved and pressure reduced."
The latest version of TGA's larger folding mobility scooter, the Maximo also delivered a show highlight at Naidex this year. This car boot scooter is based on the best-selling Minimo concept however it provides greater space and comfort when onboard. It can be folded with one hand in seconds, has an ultra-lightweight lithium battery as standard and runs on high grade pneumatic tyres and active rear suspension. The new version launched at the NEC includes an improved adjustable tiller and more supportive, removable seat so users can achieve a greater variety of driving positions.
