Justin Bone, 27 from Bury and Production Team Leader for Sudbury's TGA Mobility, has raised over £500 for Macmillan Cancer Support by having all of his head hair shaved off.
Justin signed up to the 'Brave the Shave' fundraising programme which is a nationwide initiative by the Macmillan charity. The head-shaving campaign slogan says: "Stand proudly alongside men, women and children with cancer. Ask friends and family to sponsor you and get set to conquer the clippers."
Justin decided to help by signing up for 'Brave the Shave' following a conversation with the nurse who cares for his Grandpa. She explained about the fundraiser and as Justin?s Grandpa has Cancer, he decided to set up a donation page with a target of £100. He finally collected over £500 helped by many donations from his colleagues at TGA Mobility.
Justin explains: 'Macmillan supported my Grandma for a number of years while she was going through her treatment. During this time, she also met some special friends going through same ordeal. She sadly passed away on the 16th April 2014. I have unfortunately lost several other family members to Cancer so raising money for Macmillian was a no-brainer for me. Losing all my hair was a real shock at first however I am pleased to say it is growing back at a really fast rate. Thank you to everyone who donated especially all the team from TGA.'
Justin has been a hardworking employee at TGA Mobility for over three years. TGA supplies a range of quality mobility scooters across the country and Justin is responsible for managing spare parts and supporting the Pre-delivery Inspection team.
