Pat is an entertaining individual who always remains positive despite mobility difficulties caused by back problems and arthritis. “I’m always laughing I am!” she says regularly even though she has to deal with constant pain and can only walk small distances. Pat was an Auxiliary Nurse for the Ministry of Defence for 20 years before taking early retirement due to ill health. She now lives with her husband in Clacton and enjoy spending time with her children and grandchildren. However, being able to enjoy the outdoors, especially the seafront only minutes away, was becoming impossible until she won her brand new TGA Minimo mobility scooter.
TGA have being running a nationwide competition on Facebook asking their followers to post pictures and messages explaining why they love their TGA mobility scooter so much. This #iLoveMyTGA competition has been very popular with lots of fascinating scooter owners uploading experiences and memories. As Pat already owned a larger, 3-wheel TGA Supersport, known as the ‘Harley Davidson’ of scooters, she was encouraged to enter the competition by her cousin. Her cousin took pictures and Pat posted them and her thoughts onto the TGA Facebook page. Pat’s content and its shareability were deemed to be the best by TGA as she clearly explained the lifestyle benefits of owning a quality scooter. For her engaging and witty posts, Pat has won a £2,000 folding TGA Minimo scooter that fits in a car boot – perfect for days out further afield.
Pat said: “Well when I got the message on Facebook that said I had won, I couldn’t believe it, it must be a hoax! My cousin Shelley convinced me to contact TGA and when I spoke to them they confirmed it to be true, I had won a marvelous new scooter. I didn’t sleep that night as I was so shocked. I didn’t really know what I was entering and if I’d thought it was a competition I would have turned to jelly and not done it. I am so happy! Now I have my new Minimo I am free to go further in the car with my husband who still drives and I can cruise along the Clacton seafront, brill.”
Pat adds: “My existing larger Supersport is great for the countryside but my new smaller folding Minimo is even better for going into town or fitting in the car boot. I recently saw this scooter is plane friendly so I am now determined to fly to France as this has been a life-long ambition before I die. Scooters are a God send for so many people who can’t walk far like me, without them you are lost. I can sit next to the fountain in town and relax without the terrible back pain I get from walking as my spine continues to get worse. I spent so many years bending over as a Nurse this may have contributed to my problems but at least these days I can now go out in comfort and with some support. My scooter is beautiful and sturdy; I recommend TGA to everyone, they have been so kind to me. I believe in making the most out life. If you have health problems why moan, there’s no point, keep happy and keep laughing that’s what I say. Winning this Minimo has definitely put an even bigger smile on my face!”
