The Disabled Ramblers Association organises group rambles for users of mobility scooters with off-road capabilities and is regularly featured on TV, including BBC Countryfile. The charity provides a unique opportunity for individuals to ramble in groups along pre-assessed accessible routes and enjoy areas of outstanding natural beauty.
Around 30 rambles are organised each year across England and Wales and each route is risk assessed and graded in terms of difficulty. Rambles are supported by friends, family and volunteers and a limited number of scooters can be available for hire.
TGA will pay the year’s membership fee to the charity every time a customer purchases a new Breeze S4, S3, Vita X or Supersport and signs up to be a Disabled Rambler.
"As our resources are limited, we are delighted to have forged an enhanced relationship with TGA which aims to raise awareness and membership of the Disabled Ramblers,” John Cuthbertson, Disabled Ramblers Chairman says. “Every purchase of a certain and appropriate TGA scooter will offer the opportunity to join us for free thanks to a donation pledge.
“Many ramblers over the years have chosen TGA scooters (like Jo Franks) and we hope more owners will now join our groups and benefit from memorable shared experiences. Loyal to Dr Mike Bruton's original concept which started decades ago, the Disabled Ramblers continue to focus on rural access for all and we hope this new initiative with TGA will accelerate change."
“Helping to support better wellbeing through group activities is always positive and having been involved with the Disabled Ramblers for a while, we genuinely support their cause to get as many people enjoying the countryside as possible,” Daniel Stone, TGA Managing Director says. “Our mobility scooters mix everyday use capabilities with the ability to tackle rambles, so we’re happy to get more involved by offering customers subsidised membership to the charity.
“This allows us to give a bit back and we’re so pleased to have a scheme which encourages people to see more than they otherwise would be able to.”
