Susan Whitley from Gosport, Hampshire, has won TGA Mobility’s safe scooter driving competition and is now wearing her high-visibility prizes with pride.
Susan owns a TGA Minimo Plus which is a lightweight, transportable scooter that folds in one action and can be stored in a car boot. Despite its compact size the advanced Minimo Plus provides a smooth and stable ride through suspension, pneumatic tyres and a supportive seat. Susan lives with walking difficulties however is able to maintain independence thanks to her scooter.
Like TGA, Susan takes road safety seriously so decided to enter TGA’s recent Facebook competition to win a range of high visibility accessories. As one of five lucky winners, Susan has received a free high-vis jacket and ankle ‘snap-wraps’ so she is more visible to other pedestrians and road users.
Susan explains: “I never win anything so I was really delighted when TGA told me I was a winner. I love bright colours so these high-vis accessories are right up my street. I can drive around with greater peace of mind whether that’s visiting town or at garden centres enjoying the colourful flowers. I have a boot hoist fitted in the car so I can get my Minimo Plus in and out without physical lifting which means we can travel further afield.
Susan continue: “In fact, I now have the confidence to go even further with my scooter as we are taking it to Egypt shortly on holiday. It will be so much easier to manage than my previous folding scooter from a different company, that one was rubbish. We are flying from Gatwick which I hear is an excellent airport when it comes to accessibility and assistance. They’ll definitely see me coming at the airport!”
